The 5,090-teu Ital Laguna, the largest Evergreen Group container vessel to sail in the Adriatic Sea, called at the Trieste Marine Terminal (TMT) March 13 on its first voyage from China.

The vessel is the first of four similar 5,090-teu ships built in South Korea for deployment on the Far-East - Adriatic service (ADR) that calls Trieste on weekly basis.

The 54.152 G.T. Ital Laguna has an overall length of 294.05 m and a beam of 32.20 m. with a speed of 24.3 knots.

On behalf of Evergreen Line, Mr. Jefferson Lin, Managing Director of Italia Maritttima S.p.a. stated: "We expect that this upgraded Service will meet the increasing demand of customers for direct links between China and South Germany and Eastern Europe region via Trieste gateway".

The ADR service provides a faster and regular connection between China and the Adriatic, with the following port rotation: Shanghai - Ningbo - Hong Kong - Yantian - Tanjung Pelepas - Alexandria Dekheila - Taranto - Trieste -Koper - Rijeka - Taranto - Tanjung Pelepas - Shanghai.
