The team of Express Transport of Mumbai (ETPL), Member to the Worldwide Project Consortium WWPC, its expertise and professionalism came to the fore front recently, when a MNC handed over the contract to ETPL for ocean movement of 6 nos OOG including a heavy lift Stator of 407 MT to be loaded from the port of Hazira to Krishnapatnam. In this instance the cargoes being a COASTAL movement and under CABOTAGE LAWS , various permissions had to be arranged from the Shipping Authorities to allow ETPL to load the cargo on a foreign flag vessel. The cargo being OOG in length, height and weight, a lot of precaution and care was taken as regards to the loading plan, stowage, suitable cranes, slings and coordinating with the transporter for loading and discharging operations. The vessel completed her loading and discharging operations at respective ports in less than 24 hrs. Thus ensuring that ETPL team was hands down at the site as a professional outfit and had timely coordinated with the transporter, agent and master of the vessel for quick, smooth and safe operations.

Also in the recent past ETPL had been given the contract by one of the large trans-national engineering giant to move four reactors from its vendors plant in Sohar, Oman to the port of New Mangalore, India. The reactors were varying from mini 84 MT to maxi of 181 MT, and had to be loaded from the vendors assembly plant on to special hydraulic axles and properly lashed/secured and moved to the port under police escort for loading on project cargo vessel. ETPL had organised the heavy lift transportation and after arrival at Sohar port, load from under hook into the hatch of the vessel. Needless to say this required precision and coordination with customers design engineers, vessel agents and the master of the vessel. The cargo having a concentrated CG, special slings had to be placed at accurate points under the supervision of the ETPL TEAM and Customers design engineers. The whole operation i.e. transportation ex plant till sailing of the vessel was completed in less than 12 hrs with vessel arriving at 0500 hrs and sailed on the same day at 1500 hrs. The transit time assured to the client was 6 days and vessel arrived at discharge port in 4 days and cargo was unloaded within 3 hours onto the receivers trailers under hook.
