Famous Pacific Shipping has opened a new branch office in Christchurch, the group’s first presence on New Zealand’s South Island.

Mr. Peter Oberg-Rooks has been appointed to manage the new branch, which is already operational. Peter previously held a similar role for Owens, the international transport and freight-forwarding group.

Specifically, he is tasked with enhancing FPS’ share of the freight forwarding market within the South Island region.

Commenting on Peter’s appointment, Marcus Goldsworthy, Managing Director of FPS New Zealand said, “In the last two years, we have launched new services, expanded our coverage of the Pacific Islands and relocated our headquarters to a new, purpose built office and warehouse facility at Auckland International airport.

“We have been looking at ways to further strengthen and develop our presence on the South Island for some time. Opening a new branch office in Christchurch and appointing Peter is a clear sign of our intentions to enhance our presence in the New Zealand marketplace.”
