FreightScan, LLC, a leader in the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry, has joined The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), an international organization that works to overcome major issues that restrict the development of the air cargo industry, as a Trustee.

In his role of Trustee with TIACA, Andr' Johnson, founder and CEO of FreightScan, will serve on the Industry Affairs Committee, which is dedicated to determining the direction of the Association by working with customs organizations and other agencies to set industry performance standards, deal with air cargo security issues and facilitate market access and traffic rights for the benefit of the air cargo industry and its customers. As a Trustee, Johnson is a full voting member of the Association and eligible to be elected to office or the Board of Directors.

'FreightScan looks forward to working with the leadership at TIACA to help drive critical air cargo initiatives that need to be addressed,' said Johnson. 'One of the many areas that FreightScan feels it can contribute to is the development and improvement of air cargo scanning and security. With the launch of our FS100 dimming system and the current development of its add-on module for cargo security, F.A.S.T. (FreightScan Automated Security Screening for Transportation), we are delivering the most practical solutions for the measurement of dimensional weight, as well as screening 100% of cargo, for all players in the air cargo supply chain. We look forward to working with TIACA to further industry standards, particularly as they relate to cargo scanning and security issues worldwide.'

Jack Boisen, Chairman of TIACA and Vice President Cargo at Continental Airlines, said: 'We welcome FreightScan to the growing ranks of TIACA's membership. Technology providers play a vital role in the air cargo supply chain and one of the areas we will be looking at in 2008 is how airlines, in particular, use technology and the return they achieve from this investment.'

The FreightScan FS100 system, which utilizes groundbreaking D.I.M.M. Tech' (Defined Imaging and Multiple Measurement Technology), exceeds all existing standards for static dimming systems in the cargo industry. For the first time in the United States, it enables cargo and logistics companies to collect accurate and reliable dimensions and calculate chargeable weight for multiple packages, in all configurations, with a single scan, in a matter of seconds. This empowers companies to maximize warehouse resources by pinpointing those shipments that will generate additional revenue from dimensional weight, establish accurate billings, and significantly improve revenues and profit performance. FreightScan is currently conducting several key pilot programs of its FS100 system with major airlines and air cargo operations in several countries and anticipates that permanent installations will begin this month. FreightScan estimates its FS100 system can generate additional annual revenues by as much as $1.2 million per year for air cargo operations that handle 200 shipments a day based upon metrics developed in its pilot programs.
