C. Steinweg (SŸd-West Terminal) GmbH & Co. KG, or Steinweg, for short, has ordered a Generation 5, G HMK 7608 Mobile Harbor Crane, a variant of Model 7, from Gottwald Port Technology GmbH (Gottwald) for its multi-purpose terminal at the Port of Hamburg. The G HMK 7608 has a maximum lifting capacity of 150 tons and a maximum radius of 51 m. Steinweg has been operating an identical Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane at this terminal since 2006.

The new crane is expected to commence commercial operations at the end of October 2009 on Kamerunkai (Cameroon Quay) where Steinweg handles project cargoes, heavy lifts, containers, and iron & steel. Both Mobile Harbor Cranes can, in the future, work in tandem lift operations, allowing them to handle very heavy loads weighing up to 300 tons.

Ulf Boll, Managing Director of C. Steinweg (SŸd-West Terminal) GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg, commented on this follow-up order as follows: "We are very satisfied with both the efficiency and the reliability of the first crane. For this reason, we decided to stay with Gottwald when it came to expanding our capacity once again. Thanks to the second high-performance Mobile Harbor Crane, we will be well positioned in the future to cater to our customers' specific needs even better than before, especially in the heavy lift category."

"We are very pleased to note that Steinweg has, once again, placed its trust in our company and that the new crane can contribute yet again to the future efficiency of the entire Hamburg port," enthused Giuseppe Di Lisa, Gottwald's Sales Director. "In addition, this order from Hamburg along with other sales to German ports demonstrate very clearly that our Generation 5 Harbor Cranes have established a firm footing in the German market. Together with this order from Steinweg, the number of Generation 5 cranes we have sold to German customers has now reached four. All in all, we have sold 49 Mobile Harbor Cranes of various generations and capacities to our home market."
