At 745 metric tons, the reactor unit was a big load for the crane loading it onto a SAL-heavy lift vessel at Dubai's Jebel Ali port and it took two hours to load. But that was just one of the challenges the GAC team made light work of during a successful operation loading a total of more than 1,000 MT of cargo.

Working in close cooperation with port authorities and the vessel's operator, SAL, GAC had arranged a special berth to ensure that the reactor and additional 245 MT of its parts, bound for Ain Sokha in Egypt, and two Rubber Tired Gantry cranes, destined for the DP World Terminal at Tarragona in Spain, were loaded as quickly and efficiently as possible.
