The Port of Galveston announced the promotion of Diane Falcioni to the position of Director of Governmental Relations and Legislative Affairs.

Reporting directly to the Port Director, Falcioni will interact with Federal, State and local agencies on a myriad of issues affecting the Port and its maritime interests. Responsibilities include regional economic development as well as solicitation and management of grant funds to improve and secure the Port.

Falcioni joined the Port in 1989 and has held various management positions of increasing responsibility in cruise marketing and government relations. In her position as Cruise Terminal Promotion Manager in the early 1990s, Falcioni was instrumental in developing Texas as a market for ports of call and later as a Caribbean cruise homeport. More recently, she has helped navigate the Port through the channels necessary to secure funding for diverse projects including transportation infrastructure, security initiatives, coastal erosion programs, and emergency response management.

Port Director Steven Cernak said, "Diane has been a key part of the Port's success and we are delighted to promote her to this critical position. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role at the Port of Galveston."
