Hapag Lloyd, OOCL, and NYK as members of the Grand Alliance have unanimously agreed to move their Pacific North West (PNW) operations to Port of Tacoma, WA. The GA has been a longtime supporter of Port of Seattle, WA and after an extensive deliberation process, the GA reached this difficult decision recognizing the value proposition offered by the Port of Tacoma. The decision was not easy as both port offerings were very competitive. The GA's new home will be at the Washington United Terminal in Tacoma (WUT).

The GA will have three PNW services calling weekly at WUT. The GA received strong support from labor, WUT Terminal management, and Port of Tacoma who have all committed to make the service an attractive option for the shipping public. With all the local support the GA believes it will be a priority choice for the PNW service for many years to come.
