The deal was finalized on 6 September with Greencarrier Freight Services Finland buying 100% of the shares from Mr Tapio Talasterä and Mrs Anne Pennala. Rahtihuolinta Oy, which has 19 staff, two offices and an annual turnover €3 million, offers both air and sea freight forwarding services.  It has been working with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics for the past 10 years. Jarmo Halonen, managing director, Greencarrier Freight Services Finland, says: “This deal is in line with our growth strategy in Finland and allows us to improve our air and ocean business together with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, which will be our main overseas partner in the future. We will also gain an additional office in Tampere, which is one of the major industrial areas in Finland.” Tapio Talasterä and Anne Pennala, who have both made long and successful careers in the Finnish forwarding industry, are pleased with the deal. “We feel that Greencarrier gives us the opportunity to develop Rahtihuolinta’s business as part of a bigger organization. It also allows a smooth transition of our staff and customers, which is very important to us.” The implementation process will start immediately and is due to be completed by the end of November. Greencarrier Freight Services Finland will then have an annual turnover of approx €15 million with a staff of 30.
