Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) released its tonnage throughput for August 2010. A total of 243,039 tons were handled in the month, representing a year-on-year growth of 17.5%. Cumulative tonnage for the first eight months of the year was 1,890,449 tons, up 33.9% year-on-year.

Export volume for August was 135,826 tons, up 25.8% year-on-year. Total export volume from January to August was 1,028,677 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 41.8%.

Import volume for August was 61,131 tons, up 9.2% against August last year. Aggregate import volume for the first eight months of 2010 was 495,059 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 29.6%.

The transshipment volume was 46,082 tons in August, indicating a year-on-year growth of 7.4%. Cumulative transshipment tonnage for the first eight months was 366,713 tons, up 20.5% against the same period last year.
