Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) treleased its tonnage throughput for May 2010. Hactl again achieved another record high in the month - the highest daily tonnage throughput which was reached on 13 May 2010, with a total of 10,184 tons of air cargo handled on that day, breaking the previous historic high of 10,080 tons just recorded on 23 April 2010. A total of 257,315 tons were handled in the month, representing a year-on-year growth of 44.6%. Cumulative tonnage for the first five months of the year was 1,142,875 tons, up 40.1% year-on-year.

Export volume for May was 142,052 tons, up 56.7% year-on-year. Total export volume for the first five months was 618,698 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 48.2%.

Import volume for May was 65,069 tons, up 31.2% against May last year. Aggregate import volume for the first five months of 2010 was 301,361 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 37.4%.

The transshipment volume was 50,194 tons in May, indicating a year-on-year growth of 33.0%. Cumulative transshipment tonnage for the first five months was 222,816 tons, up 24.4% against the same period last year.
