New Breed Logistics, Inc., based in High Point, North Carolina, announced today that it has signed a five-year contract with Hallmark Cards, Inc., to operate two new retail distribution centers located in Clayton, North Carolina and St. Joseph, Missouri. New Breed was selected to implement a world-class operation, enhance performance, reduce costs, and provide operational flexibility.

Under this contract, New Breed will provide warehousing and distribution services, which include receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and same-day shipping to Hallmark's network of stores and mass retailers. Products include greeting cards, gifts, party goods, dealer service kits, and promotional items. The Clayton, NC and St. Joseph, MO facilities total 800,000 square feet and will employ more than 200 people during peak season.

Hallmark spent more than a year conducting an in-depth analysis of several third party logistics providers before selecting New Breed. Hallmark sought to supplement its own distribution facilities by partnering with a world-class third party logistics provider to enhance logistics efficiencies, maintain a high level of customer service, control operating costs, and provide a flexible platform for growth.
