The recent call of Hamburg S'd's containership 'Cap Bon' at San Francisco/Oakland is a visible sign of the company's continued commitment to meeting the needs of customers for vessel and schedule integrity and access to a widening array of major markets worldwide.

With a 2,500 TEU (nominal) capacity and 440 reefer plugs the 'Cap Bon' is part of a fleet expansion from six to seven vessels that provide a weekly fixed-day service from California to 'down under'.

On the Pacific Northwest ' Australia/New Zealand service, vessel sizes are being upgraded from 1,700 TEU (nominal) to 2,500 TEU vessels ' a process which will be completed by the end of the second quarter.

On February 20, 2010 Hamburg S'd marked another milestone by adding all-water service from the West Coast to and from North Europe. On that day the 'Cap Colville' departed Seattle with enroute calls in Vancouver, Oakland and Long Beach and then to the company's Cartagena hub. With this new service, Hamburg S'd offers one-stop service to Rotterdam, Hamburg, Tilbury and Antwerp via Cartagena transshipment. The hub also makes possible additional service connections to all ports in the Caribbean as well as the East Coast of South America.
