Hapag-Lloyd revision of Low Sulphur Surcharge as from February 1, 2014.

In reference back to the November 7, 2013 announcement, the low sulphur rules will be tightened to max. 0.1% sulphur content in California as of January 1, 2014.
Consequently Hapag-Lloyd will revise the current Low Sulphur Surcharge to/from US West Coast and Canada West Coast ports.
The revised Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSF) applicable as per February 1, 2014 will be:

  • To/from North Europe: USD 45 per TEU
  • To/from Mediterranean: USD 56 per TEU
  • To/from Latin America (incl. Mexico) : USD 51 per TEU
