This was an unique operation which would not have been possible without the whole hearted co-operation of S.C.I and NSICT (DP World). Handling of this type of cargo on flat bed containers has never been attempted at the Nhava Sheva ports.
A lot of hard and dedicated efforts were put in by various organizations in order to achieve this herculean task. Special saddles were fabricated to distribute the weight, heavy duty nylon straps were utilized for lashings, tailor made lifting slings were used to lift the cargo and' 80ft long trailors were deployed to move the cargo from the CFS to NSICT port.
Stuffing of cargo onto Flat bed containers and lashing/securing' of cargo were carried out at CFS.
Special slings were procured to lift the package along with the Flat rack container.
Loading operations at NSICT port were handled with pinpoint accuracy using swivel in order that the package could pass between the legs of the Gantry.
