“Having traveled to most of the states this year and seeing the state association executives in action - I can tell you Dave is well deserving of this award,” said ATA Chairman Mike Card, president of Combined Transport, Central Point, Ore. “Dedicated, passionate, energetic, and professional are a few words to describe him.” “Our state trucking associations are vital to the success of American Trucking Associations,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. “Dave has done tremendous work in Tennessee for nearly a decade. With annual visits to lawmakers as part of Call on Washington, efforts in Nashville to work on the state level, charitable efforts and constantly working to improve our industry’s image in the community, Dave is a model state executive.” The President’s TAEC Leadership Award was created by ATA and sponsored by J.J. Keller in 2002 to honor a state trucking association leader and to create an enduring legacy for that leader and for the industry. The award comes with a $10,000 grant for a non-profit 501(c)(3) trucking education or research organization chosen by Huneryager. “It is fantastic to see Dave get this kind of recognition for his outstanding work on behalf of the industry in Tennessee,” said Anne Lynch, executive director of the Massachusetts Trucking Association and current TAEC chairman. “Dave is a tireless advocate for the trucking industry and a staunch supporter of the ATA federation. On behalf of TAEC, I congratulate him on this tremendous honor.”
