South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries said on Monday that it had won an 800 billion won ($711 million) order to build six (corrects from nine) container ships for German shipping line Hamburg Sud Group.

Hyundai said in a statement that the order had an option for an additional four vessels.

The world's largest shipbuilder will start delivery of the 9,600 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) vessels from May 2013, the company added. (Reuters)
