Hyundai Merchant Marine recently began a weekly new Pacific China Express (PCX) service between the ports of Ningbo, Shanghai and Los Angeles. The Los Angeles service will be based out of Global Gateway South, APL's Pier 300 facility, and is part of The New World Alliance, which is comprised of Hyundai, APL and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

The PCX service will provide transit times of 13 days between Los Angeles and Shanghai and utilizing on-dock rail at the Port of Los Angeles, will enhance the speed and efficiency of transporting goods to inland ports and key North American markets.

"The Port of Los Angeles is very pleased to be a part of the new PCX service," said Kaylynn L. Kim, Los Angeles Harbor Commissioner. "Serving as the critical link between US and Far East trade, a Port of Los Angeles and Hyundai relationship makes sense and will benefit the entire nation of consumers."
