The Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil (CCG) in Ecuador recently named Contecon Guayaquil SA (CGSA) as one of the top companies in Ecuador and the chamber’s most outstanding member in 2008 during a ceremony recently held in commemoration of CCG’s 120th founding anniversary.

CCG awarded to CGSA the Centenario, the most prestigious award given annually to a CCG member whose business performance has significantly contributed to the development of the city in particular and of the country in general.

Among the government officials present during the awarding ceremony were Xavier Abad, Ecuador Industry and Competitiveness Minister, and Jaime Nebot, Guayaquil City Mayor.

Since its takeover of the Guayaquil Container and Multipurpose Terminals in 2007, CGSA has modernized port facilities, and deployed new equipment, resulting in a more efficient and systematized vessel and yard operation.

CGSA is a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), a leading port management company involved in the operations and development of 19 maritime terminals and port projects in 13 countries worldwide. For over 20 years, ICTSI has proven itself to be the private sector partner of choice for world-class trade facilitation in the economies it serves.
