IICL elects new chairman

The Institute of International Container Lessors’ (IICL) President, Steven Blust, announced that, Celine Wei, President, Florens Container Services USA Ltd., has been elected to the position of Chairman of the IICL for 2014, succeeding Jeremy Matthew, Group CEO of Seaco Srl.

Wei has over a decade experience in transportation industry, with 9 years in various corporate management roles at one of the leading global container leasing companies in San Francisco. Ms. Wei holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

“On behalf of the IICL’s Board of Directors and staff, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Jeremy Matthew for his leadership during last year’s dynamic times” said Blust, “and look forward to another active year ahead under Ms. Wei’s Chairmanship.”

“I am honored to assume the role of Chairman of the IICL for 2014” said Ms. Wei, “and am looking forward to working with our member companies to advance the current industry initiatives in which the IICL is actively involved.”

The IICL’s Board also elected Philip Brewer, President and CEO of Textainer Group Holdings Limited, as First Vice President; Simon Vernon, President, Triton Container International Ltd., as Second Vice President; and George Elkas, President, Flexi-Van Leasing, Inc., as Treasurer. Richard Barreau, Managing Director of TOUAX Global Container Solutions, and Peter Su Yi Gang, Director and General Manager of Dong Fang International Asset Management Ltd., were elected as Executive Committee Members at Large.
