IJS Global has expanded its international reach by signing a non-exclusive, strategic partnership agreement with leading Kenyan headquartered freight organisation, Freight-in-Time.  At a recent signing ceremony IJS Global CEO, Sjoerd van Loon and Shamit Shah, Group Executive Director of Freight-in-Time, inked a deal which will see the two companies expand their co-operation across a number of countries in the region.
IJS Global currently sends both air and ocean traffic to Kenya with shipments split approximately 60% to 40% between the two modes.  This new agreement, which brings the two companies closer together, will allow IJS Global to expand and grow existing relationships the two organisations had in a limited number of countries.  In addition to Kenya they will now be working on service delivery in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burundi with planned expansions already in the pipeline for Zambia and Somalia as Freight-in-Time grows its operations to those two nations.
“This new strategic partnership will allow both parties to take advantage of the interesting economic developments taking place in this dynamic part of Africa.  It will allow us to focus our trade lane development in this vital market and provide further leveraging with our long-established key agent partner in South Africa, Mega Freight”, says Hielke Hager, IJS Global’s Operations and Commercial Director for Benelux who negotiated the deal.
