INTTRA, the leading e-commerce portal for the ocean freight industry, announced the results of its "A Nite into the Future of e-Commerce" award ceremony, held at Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Shanghai, China. The annual event hosted more than 140 guests, which consisted of more than 15 global carriers.

The event began with a speech from Ms.Tang Xue Chun, General Manager of Sinotrans Eastern Co., Ltd. Shipping Branch, discussing her experience with e-commerce and the specific benefits she has received from working with INTTRA. According to Ms.Tang, with the help of INTTRA, Sinotrans Shipping Branch was able to process over 360,000 bookings from the Shanghai port, as well as handle nearly 210,000 bills of lading and 490,000 equivalent teus in 2007. In fact, the adoption of INTTRA's e-commerce technologies has boosted the organization's operation capability by almost 30 percent.

The event also included INTTRA's third annual customer awards ceremony, honoring shippers and forwarders for their efforts in the supply chain and direct work with the INTTRA platform. Some of the awards distributed during the event included: ' The Top 3 Performing Carriers in 2007: Winners were selected based on significant contributions to the China-Korea region and included CMA CGM (China) Shipping Ltd.; Maersk (CHINA) Shipping Co., Ltd; and, Hapag-Lloyd (China) Shipping Ltd. ' The Top 3 Fastest Growing Carriers in 2007: Winners were selected based on annual growth rate and included MOL (China) Co., Ltd.; Maersk (China) Shipping Co., Ltd.; and, Safmarine Container Lines. ' The Top Performing Customers in Shanghai: Winners were selected based on 2007 container volume in Shanghai and included Sinotrans Eastern Company Ltd, Shipping Branch; Shanghai Shengrun International Transport Co., Ltd; Orient International Logistics (Holding) Co., Ltd; CTS International Transportation Co., Ltd; and, Orient International Transportation Co., Ltd.
