Adds to growing leadership team in 10th anniversary year

The Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) at the University of Denver, which celebrates its 10th anniversary as a leading academic transportation institute this year, has elected four new members to its Board of Directors, elected a new Deputy Chairman of the Board and appointed additional board members who are transportation industry experts to its Leadership Team.

Joining the ITI Board, which consists of more than 50 executives and leaders from academia and the freight and passenger transportation industries, are: Joseph A. DeCapua, president and CEO of IDCS, Inc.; Robert S. Hulick, senior vice president of business development of Trinity Rail, a division of Trinity Industries, Inc.; John V. Keenan, senior vice president and chief transportation officer for Horizon Lines; and Barry L. Pennypacker, vice president and group executive of the Freight Group at Wabtec.

In addition, ITI Board member John D. Bowe, regional president, Americas, APL, Limited, has been elected Deputy Chairman of the ITI Board of Directors, replacing Clifford J. Hardt, retired vice president, Strategic Planning for Federal Express Corporation, who assumes the role of ITI Board member emeritus. Remaining ITI Board Chairman is Thomas L. Finkbiner; ITI Board President is George C. Woodward, and Gilbert E. Carmichael is Senior Chairman of the ITI board.

New to the ITI Leadership Team are: Stephen G. Branscum, group vice president, Consumer Products Business Unit, BNSF Railway Company, who accepted the position of Chairman, ITI Board Intermodal Freight Committee; and John M. Inglish, general manager, Utah Transit Authority, who accepted the position of Chairman, ITI Board Intermodal Passenger Committee.

Other members of ITI's Leadership Team, which focuses on specific disciplines, are: Joanne F. Casey, president and CEO of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), who is Vice Chair of the ITI Executive Committee; Theodore Prince, vice president, intermodal and international, Kansas City Southern Railway, who is Chairman of the ITI Board Research and Policy Committee; William Zaranka, PhD, Representative of the Chancellor and the Provost of the University of Denver, who is Chairman of the ITI Board Education Committee; and Patrick Sherry, PhD, who is Co-Director of the National Center for Intermodal Transportation (NCIT) at the University of Denver.
