The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has hired experienced transportation industry professional Lisa Wheldon as Director, National Sales. Wheldon joins JAXPORT’s Trade Development, Global Marketing and Customer Service team and is responsible for new cargo business development in major regional markets, furthering the port’s efforts to cement Jacksonville’s role as the Southeastern U.S. hub for international trade.

Lisa Wheldon has more than 20 years of experience in the area of transportation and logistics, most recently serving as Director of International Sales for Florida East Coast Railway, after joining the railroad in 2003 as National Accounts Manager. Wheldon began her career in intermodal trucking and over the span of two decades has also worked in customer service for SeaLand; managed inland operations for Sea Star Line and was responsible for international customer service, pricing and inside sales for CSX Intermodal.

Wheldon is a native of Savannah, Georgia and a Jacksonville resident since 1996. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of business administration with an emphasis on transportation and logistics. Wheldon earned a master of business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2002.
