Frankfurt - Jettainer, the leading international service partner for outsourced ULD management in the aviation sector, has inaugurated its expanded logistics center at Frankfurt Airport. At the so-called JettHub FRA, all resources are now bundled. The new facility guarantees immediate availability of efficient ULD handling, maintenance and repair services at Germany's largest air traffic hub. Around 750,000 units a year can be moved at the site, which covers an area of 17,000m2.

JettHub can host up to 9,000 containers and pallets at the same time. It is directly linked to the apron by a 24/7 security gate. To manage stocks efficiently and transparently, Jettainer has developed its own software, which is directly connected to the company’s IT platform. The modern logistics center is operated by handling counts GmbH, a 100-percent subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo AG. “With the continuous development of our JettHub, we have created a solid foundation for managing the world's largest ULD fleet at our home base. Moreover, we are on course for further growth at one of the most important airports in the world, which the majority of our customers as well as numerous other airlines use on a regular basis,” says Carsten Hernig, Managing Director of Jettainer. Another key partner on site is Deufol Airport Services, an aeronautical company that has moved into JettHub as part of its close cooperation with Jettainer: it will look after the servicing and repair of containers and pallets on behalf of the loading equipment professionals. “Our logistics center offers proximity and thus a high degree of operational flexibility. We particularly appreciate the fact that an onsite repair shop allows us to avoid a considerable number of truck transports,” Hernig continues. “This not only saves valuable time and money but also protects the environment.” Deufol Airport Services is the first company to be awarded the title “Certified Repair Partner” by Jettainer. This certifies that it fulfils Jettainer’s quality guidelines. Jettainer’s conformity with the environmental management standard ISO 14001 and the quality management standard ISO 9001 has been previously confirmed.
