Kenco Logistic Services LLC, one of the most respected names in the third-party logistics industry, has announced that Komatsu America Corp. (KAC), a US subsidiary of Japan based Komatsu Ltd., has selected Kenco as the total solutions provider for its manufacturing facility in Newberry, South Carolina.

“The complexities of the Newberry facility require a provider with proven expertise and in-depth knowledge of Komatsu,” said Komatsu’s Director of Manufacturing Administration, Jim Mathis.  “In our five-year relationship with Kenco, we’ve been impressed with how effectively they have kept pace with Komatsu’s evolving strategic direction. Bringing them on board to support the Newberry manufacturing operation was the logical choice.”

The 220,000 square-foot facility on 80 acres of land includes a plant designed for manufacture of compact to middle size construction equipment and forklifts. Kenco provides parts sequencing as well as logistics management of both inside and outside storage and distribution.

“Executing the day-to-day operations at Newberry is just the kind of challenge that Kenco was made for,” said Jeff Lewis, director public operations, Kenco. The success of this long-standing relationship is due, in part, to each company’s approach to incentives and teamwork. This association also allows both companies to concentrate on their core competencies.
