Springfield, OH - Konecranes is helping operators get more out of their equipment now that TRUCONNECT® Remote Monitoring is available for Konecranes lift trucks. Global lifting leader Konecranes originally developed TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring for its overhead industrial cranes. The technology was an immediate success–so much so that the company has incorporated it into its lift truck line. TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring enables management to track the real usage of its lift trucks through a remote connection,” says Phil Stevens, Konecranes North America region director, lift trucks. ”It is a great tool for scheduling your lift truck fleet’s maintenance actions and improving the fleet’s uptime, along with monitoring safe usage.” A diagnostic unit continuously collects operation and usage data from the lift truck. A modem transfers the data to a remote data center for analysis. The data is sent once a day over a wireless, mobile connection, and a report is generated. Customers can access their information using a web browser. They can immediately see details on the productive use of their fleet, which shows when the trucks have been in use, idling, or off-duty. The Basic level of service also delivers data on safety alerts, machine status, fuel consumption, speed, distance, total load lifted and alarm fault codes from the engine and transmission. Depending on which level of service customers subscribe to, they also have the opportunity to monitor tire pressure, drops in engine oil pressure, transmission overheating and engine coolant temperature. Customers can also see a GPS signal, shock sensors and an alarm by email and/or text message. The usage information helps you to improve your lift truck fleet’s maintenance operations by forecasting the estimated maintenance date from actual usage,” said Stevens. “You can also identify where operator training could improve the safety and productivity of your work site.” According to Stevens, one of the most appreciated aspects of TRUCONNECT is the safety alerts feature, which sends notifications straight to a mobile device or by email, soon after the event occurs. TRUCONNECT for lift trucks delivers many real benefits–visibility of the productive use of a customer’s truck fleet, safer lift truck usage, and the opportunity for more precise maintenance planning. The system is continuously in development. Information on future updates can be accessed at the webpage http://www.kclifttrucks.com/products/product-features/truconnect-for-lift-trucks.
