Trans Global Logistics, a leading Hong Kong-based logistics company with a wide network throughout Asia, has named Peter Lam corporate director of airfreight. Lam joins Trans Global from Virgin Atlantic Cargo, where he was regional sales manager for Hong Kong and China.

Lam brings more than 24 years of airfreight sales and management experience to TGL. He has held senior positions with Star Airfreight and the Star Group of Companies and BAX Global. Throughout his career, Lam has lived and worked in China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, the US and Canada.

"Air freight is one of our core competencies and we are very pleased to name Peter Lam to head our global air freight product line," says Donald Woo, CEO of Trans Global Logistics. "Peter will drive, develop and market our air freight services across our entire global network. He will be responsible for sales, operations and product development related to all corporate accounts."

Woo says Lam will work closely with Trans Global Logistics' regional directors and their teams, and the corporate management team based in Hong Kong. Lam will begin preparing for the upcoming peak shipping period to meet capacity needs and to ensure service consistency.

"I am very excited to join the Trans Global team to manage the air freight product line," says Lam. "Trans Global has a very strong and wide network throughout Asia and I look forward to working with everyone on the air freight team to grow our product line to meet the needs of global shippers. Over the years I have known and worked with many of the air freight professionals here at Trans Global and I am familiar with the company's culture and commitment to customer service."

Lam will be based in Hong Kong, filling the newly created position.
