LAN CARGO's affiliate in Colombia, Linea Aerea Carguera de Colombia S.A. (LANCO) opened a 65,121 sq. ft. (6,050'm2) facility today at the El Dorado Airport in Bogota. Through this investment, LANCO is committed to maintaining the safest and most modern warehouse in the region. With 25,833 sq. ft. (2,400 m2) for cold storage and 36,597 sq. ft. (3,400 m2 ) for dry storage, the expanded warehouse, featuring state-of-the-art technology, provides superior efficiency and quality of service. The warehouse will provide a smooth' import and export operation, especially for the flower industry and guarantee that the cold chain is maintained while complying with' the highest environmental standards in the industry. The US$7 million LANCO investment in the expansion of the warehouse facilities, results in a 125% increase in operating capacity, reducing the processing times for cargo delivery and reception by more than half.
