Livingston International and the National Small Business Association (NSBA) are making it easier for small businesses to reap the benefits of international trade. The two organizations signed a partnership agreement that offers NSBA members solutions that Livingston designed for small businesses, and an educational platform to help them trade internationally.   With this new agreement, NSBA members now have access to benefits including customs brokerage services to help them clear their goods across international borders, solutions to keep them compliant with trade regulations and avoid penalties and risks, and tools and resources to navigate the complexities of international trade. The suite of products will be flexible and scalable for members as their businesses grow.   Exporting and importing offer growing opportunities that many small businesses do not consider. Member surveys conducted by the NSBA show that the main barriers preventing them from exporting are a lack of information and an unclear understanding of how to start. “Over 80 percent of Livingston’s clients are small business importers, so we know first-hand that the international trade environment intimidates many small businesses who would benefit from it,” said Steve Preston, CEO of Livingston International, a leading North American customs broker and trade compliance company, and the former head of the U.S. Small Business Administration. “Through this new partnership, Livingston can help NSBA members focus on growing their business, which is important to U.S. economic growth.”  “Aligning with Livingston allows our member businesses access to a partner who specializes in international trade and is focused on protecting the interest of their clients as they enter new growth markets,” said Todd McCracken, president of the NSBA. “Livingston brings a unique approach of educating their clients on the risks and rewards of trade through their educational platform.”  The NSBA has been the leading small-business advocate in the U.S. since 1937. The Small Business Exporters Association (SBEA), an NSBA council, is the largest and oldest non-profit association in the country dedicated exclusively to small and mid-size exporters.
