Longistics, a full-service provider of global logistics solutions, has announced that Duane Long, chairman, has been elected vice chairman for the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Currently chair of ATA's Insurance Task Force, Long received the position after having served as ATA's vice president at large and state vice president, as well as a member of multiple committees for the organization, for more than 15 years. He was selected during the 2010 ATA Management Conference held at Phoenix in October.

Since 1933, ATA has served as the national representative of the trucking industry. It focuses on ongoing assistance and advocacy on practical safety laws and regulations affecting the industry. Through a federation of other trucking groups, industry-related conferences, and its 50 affiliated state trucking associations, ATA represents more than 37,000 members covering every type of motor carrier in the United States. The management of the overall policy and direction of ATA is vested in its Board of Directors, which includes the Chairman of the Board, First Vice Chairman, Second Vice Chairman, Vice Chairmen (2), Treasurer, Secretary, Past Chairmen of the Board and Vice Presidents at Large (no more than 60).
