Supply ChainCommerce solution provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. and its customer, Luolai Home Textile, a leading retailer and manufacturer of home textile products in China, have jointly won the "Best IT Project 2013" award from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP). With this accolade, CFLP acknowledged Manhattan Associates' successful implementation of its Warehouse Management System (WMS) at Luolai Home Textile and recognized the contribution Manhattan is making to the development of China's retail industry. Anhong Yang, logistics director at Luolai Home Textile, commented, "We are very pleased with the significant improvements we've achieved following the implementation of Manhattan Associates' WMS. Our average daily shipping volume is now above 5,000 consignments, which is a 67% increase over the pre-Manhattan daily average. In the first few months of operation with the new system, we've even recorded daily shipment volumes exceeding 7,000 consignments. We've optimized our warehouse slotting which has led to a significant reduction in the time spent on replenishment, we have inventory accuracy levels hitting 100% and we've delivered productivity improvements throughout our operation." With a federation aim to encourage improvement and the adoption of best practice in logistics and purchasing, CFLP invited nominations from companies operating throughout China. Shortlisted projects were evaluated against multiple criteria including how systems were integrated with other technology platforms and the scale of operational and efficiency improvements delivered by the enabling IT solutions. CFLP recognized Manhattan Associates for its best-in-class supply chain technology and the benefits it delivered to Luolai. A combined Luola and Manhattan Associates team successfully deployed the Manhattan WMSat two distribution centers (DCs) with a combined warehousing capacity of 700,000 square feet. The WMS was integrated with two completely different Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems. It was configured to support a stackable-frame storage operation and it helped optimise key processes in Luolai's DC packing area which resulted in improved visibility and traceability of outbound shipments. Steve Smith, senior vice president, International Operations at Manhattan Associates, said, "We are honored for the recognition and congratulate our great partner Luolai in this achievement. The success Luolai has had with Manhattan's WMS is a great testimony to our technological innovation and expertise in helping retailers get closer to their customers and improving the overall shopping experience they provide to them. In the omni-channel era, where the digital revolution and consumerisation of technology eliminates the traditional barriers between channels, both retailers and manufacturers need a strong infrastructure to manage orders, create a single view of customer transactions and inventory, and ensure customer satisfaction."
