The North Carolina State Ports Authority is excited to announce the addition of industry veteran Mary Mackson to its economic development team. Mackson, who has more than 20 years experience with ocean carriers, is the new Senior Account Executive based in Charlotte. “One of our key initiatives moving forward is reclaiming our home markets,” Chief Executive Officer Paul J. Cozza said.  “Mary’s experience and industry contacts will make us more visible in the greater Charlotte region and help us to promote the Charlotte Inland Terminal.” Most recently an Account Manager with CMA CGM, Mackson’s career has concentrated on container sales. Mackson spent much of her career in Jacksonville, Florida where she was District Manager before becoming a Senior Account Executive with Maersk Line. During her time with Maersk she was constantly traveling from Florida to the company’s southeast regional office in Charlotte. “I’m certainly no stranger to Queen City and am excited to improve the supply chains of our customers there,” said Mackson. “The North Carolina State Ports Authority is known in the industry for unrivaled customer service and I look forward to capitalizing on that great reputation.”  Mackson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance & Economics from Mount St. Mary’s University. She has also taken supply chain management courses at Georgia Tech and Ohio State.  North Carolina's Ports in Wilmington and Morehead City, plus inland terminals in Charlotte and in Greensboro, link the state's consumers, businesses and industry to world markets, and serve as magnets to attract new business and industry while receiving no direct taxpayer subsidy. Port activities contribute statewide to 76,000 jobs and $700 million each year in state and local tax revenues.
