Maersk Line's brand new 4,000 teu capacity container vessel Maersk Brooklyn became the largest vessel to call at the Baltic Container Terminal (BCT). Arriving from the Port of Aarhus in Denmark, the 300 hundred meter length vessel off-loaded 500 twenty-foot equivalents units (teus), and loaded 300 teus before sailing to the port of Bremarhaven in Germany. Sailing under the British flag, Maersk Brooklyn is owned by Maersk UK, a part of the international business consortium the AP Moller Maersk Group. Recently, BCT took delivery of four rubber tired gantries and three new post-Panamax quay cranes that almost doubled the terminal's capacity to 700,000 teus, from 400,000 teus when International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) took over in 2003. BCT is a subsidiary of ICTSI, a leading developer in international container terminal operations. Headquartered in the Philippines, ICTSI has an experience record that spans container terminal operation in six continents.
