Maersk Line announced further revisions to its trans-Pacific network including the temporary withdrawal of the Trans-Pacific 10 (TP10) service, and revisions to the Trans-Pacific 7 (TP7) and Trans-Pacific 3 (TP3) services. The TP10 will be suspended to suit demand anticipated during the upcoming slack season.

The final TP10 eastbound departure will be from Busan, South Korea on October 4, 2009, with the last westbound call from Miami, USA on October 31, 2009. Adjustments to the TP3 and TP7 services will ensure Maersk Line continues to provide a comprehensive product with broad port coverage while minimizing impact to customers. Maersk Line leverages a dynamic, flexible deployment, able to quickly adapt to the demands of the market. Should the trans-Pacific trade develop a need for increased capacity, services can be added to meet the needs of our customers.

The revised TP7 and TP3 strings will continue to serve the US East Coast with no loss of US port coverage. Additionally, the TP3 service will include an eastbound port call at Ningbo, China, previously offered as a part of the temporarily withdrawn TP10. The TP7 will also service Qingdao cargo to the US East Coast via Yokohama with the revised TP3 service accommodating export cargo to Qingdao via Tanjung Pelepas. The new TP7 eastbound rotation is as follows: Yantian, China; Hong Kong, Hong Kong; Busan, South Korea; Yokohama, Japan; Balboa, Panama; Miami, USA; Savannah, USA; Charleston, USA; and Newark, USA.
