The American Trucking Associations announced Dale Hanington, President and CEO of the Maine Motor Transport Association, was awarded the ATA President's Annual TAEC Leadership Award at ATA's Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, NV.

The award recognizes the state trucking association that has gone above and beyond in its support of American Trucking Associations, its members and the industry at large.

'Our state trucking associations are integral to the success of the American Trucking Associations,' said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. 'Dale has worked for 20 years on behalf of the entire industry, and has been an incredible asset to trucking. From his annual visit with the Call on Washington program, to serving on Maine's Motor Carrier Review Board, or working on ATA's Highway Policy Committee, Dale supports ATA and the industry.' ATA and J.J. Keller created the award to honor a state trucking association leader and create an enduring legacy for that leader and for the industry. A $10,000 grant will also be awarded to a non-profit 501(c)(3) trucking education or research organization chosen by Dale Hanington.

'It is fitting to see Dale receive this kind of recognition,' said TAEC National Chair Jim Runk. 'I have known and worked with Dale for nearly two decades. He has always been a strong advocate for the trucking industry and a staunch supporter of the ATA federation. My colleagues and I wish him the best and congratulate him on this much-deserved award."
