Mitsui Rail Capital, LLC (MRC) announced that Chris Gerber has joined the company as Director of Sales and Marketing, effective April 1, 2012. He will report to Dan Penovich, MRC's vice-president of Sales and Marketing.

Gerber has nearly thirty years of experience in the rail industry and began his career with the Burlington Northern railroad where he held several positions in train operations. After leaving the railroad, he accepted his first role in the railcar leasing and finance industry when he went to work for Itel Rail. His experience with leasing also includes roles at GE Capital Fleet Services and GE Capital TIP.

Dan Penovich, vice-president of Sales and Marketing said 'we are thrilled to have Chris join our commercial team here at MRC. His breadth of knowledge and experience in both the railroading and railcar leasing industries will certainly complement our efforts to deliver value added solutions to our customers' logistics challenges. Chris's qualifications are an excellent fit with the markets we serve and car types we offer.'
