Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. announced its cooperation with the non-profit organization (NPO) PH-Japan (PHJ*1) for ocean transport of medical and health supplies, including masks to prevent infection, to communities in Thailand and Cambodia.

The NPO PHJ mainly supports Asia's emerging nations with the philosophy of 'Helping all people in the world live in health.' The governments of both Thailand and Cambodia asked PHJ to distribute masks (provided by Unicharm Corporation) and other supplies to hospitals and health clinics. One container with a full load of medical and health supplies including masks arrived in Laem Chabang, Thailand, on October 12, and another was unloaded in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, on October 20. In Thailand, the supplies were delivered to the Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health on October 15, and to Cambodia's Ministry of Health on October 22.

"Contribution to the United Nations (UN) Millennium Development Goals" is one of the stated goals of MOL's social contribution activities. The UN Millennium Development Goals aim to achieve measurable targets such as eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, combating diseases, and reducing child mortality by 2015. MOL will work proactively on activities that help achieve those goals as it grows in step with the development of the global economy and societies around the world.
