MSC Beatrice made her maiden call at the ECT Delta Terminal in Rotterdam recently. The MSC Beatrice is the sister ship of the MSC Daniela and the latest record-breaking 14,000-TEU vessel of shipping line Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
The vessels sail in the so-called Silk Service, which calls at the ECT Delta Terminal in Rotterdam. The deployment of these ships will substantially boost the capacity of this service, making Rotterdam an increasingly important link in the MSC network. In Europe, Rotterdam is the port of choice for the handling of such large vessels. Unlike many competing ports, Rotterdam knows no nautical limitations, neither as regards draught nor locks. Furthermore, the terminals are situated within an hour's sailing from the sea shipping routes.
In addition to the nautical advantages of Rotterdam, ECT's customers can benefit from an efficient service and an extensive network of hinterland connections and own inland terminals.

ECT can consequently provide customers access to deep into Europe. Especially in these difficult economic times, ECT offers its customers efficiency gains and cost advantages that make all the difference.
