Transglobal Cargo Centre Ltd’ ’ the major new on-airport perishables handler at Kenya’s Nairobi ‘Airport ’ has appointed Mark Carroll as its General Manager ’ Sales & Marketing
Carroll has spent his entire 27-year career in the freight industry, holding a variety of sales, operational and management positions with airlines, GSSAs and freight forwarders in the UK, Nairobi and Doha. His most recent post was acting Cargo Manager UK for Qatar Airways.
In his new position at Transglobal Cargo Centre, Carroll will spearhead global sales to airlines and freight forwarders, based from offices close to London Heathrow Airport.
Says Carroll: ‘This is a tremendously exciting opportunity. The new Transglobal Cargo Centre ‘facility at Nairobi is state-of-the-art, represents an investment of almost ‘11 million, and brings new standards to cargo handling at the airport. This is the only fully-mechanised ETV-based cool chain facility in Africa, and would not be out of place in London or any other major world hub.’
Transglobal Cargo Centre is at an advanced stage of negotiations with several major global carriers. Concludes Carroll: ‘Kenya has huge potential for perishables exports, previously limited only by outdated handling facilities. With the arrival of Transglobal Cargo Centre’s new handling facility, those limitations no longer exist.’
