Safmarine announced the promotion of Bimal Kanal as their new Regional Executive for the Indian Subcontinent (ISC). The new region covers India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, The Maldives, Pakistan and Bangladesh.



Bimal is an Indian national with twenty years of experience in the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, which includes ten years in senior positions in the Container Business in India. He will move to the Regional Headquarters in Mumbai from Shanghai, where he has overseen Safmarine's Greater China Area grow into the second largest Safmarine country cluster by volume. He was previously appointed in senior positions in the Group in Africa and the Middle East which completely matches the focus of Safmarine's commercial ambitions.
