New sales manager air & sea at Gebrüder Weiss in Vienna/Maria Lanzendorf

Stefan Eberl is the new Regional Sales Manager for air and sea freight solutions in the Central and Eastern European region at Gebrüder Weiss. He will take over responsibility for all Air & Sea sales activities in Austria, from Vienna to the Arlberg, and eleven further Central and Eastern European countries. He will also coordinate the regional sales teams across 20 locations. Originally from Vienna, he will report directly to Michael Büchele, Regional Manager Air & Sea for Central and Eastern Europe at Gebrüder Weiss. Describing his new colleague, Michael Büchele said: “With Stefan Eberl, we have managed to find an expert in the area who also has several years’ experience in sales and management. We look forward to working with him.” Stefan Eberl has 15 years’ experience in the transport and logistics sector. After training to become a forwarding agent, he worked in a variety of roles in the air and sea freight business, including a trade lane manager for the USA and most recently the Head of Sales and Marketing at another logistics provider.

Developing the Regional Air & Sea Strategy

By appointing Stefan Eberl, Gebrüder Weiss is making an important investment in the development and strategic position of the Air & Sea business. “We are not only strengthening our internal network, we are also improving our position with existing partners and customers,” explains Michael Büchele. Trade lane management will play an important role in the future. As such, three route development managers for strategically important countries will now be reporting directly to Stefan Eberl. They will act as logistics experts for their domestic markets and pass on global knowledge to their local customers.
