NYK Line (North America), Inc. has announced the following sales management appointments effective immediately: Neil Ward has been appointed to the position of Senior Director, Business Development. He will be responsible for developing and executing a business strategy that expands NYK Group’s product offering of value-added solutions through integrating shipping with logistics options to provide one-stop services.
Neil began his NYK Line career in 1990, progressing through sales management and marketing roles in New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, Atlanta, GA and Secaucus, NJ. In 2005, Neil relocated to Hong Kong as Assistant General Manager in the Asia Management Center, Sales and Marketing. He returned to Secaucus in 2012 in senior sales management positions, most recently General Sales Manager, Atlantic Region.
Lu Axford has joined NYK Line (NA) assuming the role of General Sales Manager, Atlantic Region. He will have overall responsibility for the Atlantic Region commercial sales team supporting the company’s business initiatives.
Prior to joining NYK, Lu spent the past 24 years in the transportation and logistics industry. His impressive credentials include the strategic planning of product development, sourcing, sales and trade within the industry. After serving four years in Germany as a US Army Officer, Lu joined APL’s Management Training Program. His role within the sales division expanded at the national level and internationally through leadership assignments in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Lu later joined Hyundai Shipping Company in Dallas, TX as Vice President, Trans-Pacific Pricing, Sales and Trade Management. His most recent position was President and CEO of World Factory, Dallas, TX with responsibility for operational, sales and financial performance.
