NYK announces the restructuring of its Western European Logistics business into two regional companies, trading as NYK Logistics North Continent and NYK Logistics South Europe from 1st April 2008, and part of NYK Group Europe, Logistics Division.

This move highlights NYK's growing presence in the continental European market as a '300M logistics services provider and is in line with NYK's ongoing efforts to support our customers' individual requirements by providing more flexible solutions and optimising cooperation between our logistics companies in the region. NYK aims to expand our service offerings in both the North Continent and South European regions in the years to come. Under the new structure, key management functions of NYK's local companies will be centralised permitting standardisation of customer contracts and easier sharing of best practice ideas on a regional basis.

NYK Logistics North Continent will by headed up by Piet Boogaard as Chief Executive Officer and includes NYK Logistics (Belgium), NYK Logistics (Deutschland), NYK Logistics (Edam), NYK Logistics (Nederland) and the NYK Logistics (Mondia) group of companies.

Giuseppe Fontana will be appointed as CEO for NYK Logistics South Europe which includes NYK Logistics (Italy), NYK logistics (Iberica), NYK Logistics (France) and NYK Logistics (Lorang).
