Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. has opened its Santa Maria Service Center to accommodate increased freight along U.S. Route 101.

The 20-door facility is strategically located near U.S. Route 101 at 1415 La Brea Avenue. The terminal joins Old Dominion's network of more than 215 service centers.

'By being in the heart of the market, we can offer earlier deliveries and better respond to customers,' said Jeff Langan, terminal manager. The new location will strengthen Old Dominion's promise of providing the best possible service to all our customers.'

The Santa Maria Service Center's coverage area includes Santa Maria, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Solvang, Buellton, Pismo Beach, Lompoc, Santa Margarita, Orcutt, Ballard and Los Osos.

With the opening, Old Dominion is closer to many customers located along U.S. Route 101. The highway is an important coastal north-south link for the entire Pacific coast. Old Dominion currently operates 14 other service centers in California.
