Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is proud to announce the July 20 christening of its tenth 8,063-teu SX-Class vessel, built by Samsumg Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.

The newbuilding was named the m.v. OOCL Europe by Sponsor Miss Ye-Ji Kim daughter of Mr. J W Kim, the President and CEO of Samsung Heavy Industries, at the Geoje Shipyard, on Geoje Island, South Korea. OOCL took delivery of the new vessel on July 26, 2006.

The OOCL Europe will be deployed with the Grand Alliance under the EU4 Service Loop, serving the Asia-Europe and Europe-Asia corridors.

The OOCL Europe's EU4 Loop ' Asia-Europe Westbound and Europe-Asia Eastbound - has a port rotation of: Rotterdam/Hamburg/Southampton/Singapore/Kaohsiung/Pusan/ Dalian/Tianjin/Qingdao/Pusan/Shanghai/Ningbo/Singapore/Port Kelang/Jeddah and back to Rotterdam for a 63-day round trip.
