Third quarter financial results announced

Pilot Air Freight announced that the company marked its 35th anniversary on October 29, 2005, with increased revenues across all facets of its business.

The company reported revenue for the third quarter 2005 of $79.7 million, an increase of 5.9% from the same quarter in 2004. During the quarter, Pilot handled 204,822 shipments totaling 119.3 million pounds.

The revenue increase is largely due to the company's growth across all business sectors. For the quarter, Pilot's international revenue saw double-digit growth, totaling $14.7 million, a 13.7% increase over the third quarter of 2004. In addition, National Accounts increased 30%, and Government Sales 7%, compared to Q3 of 2004.

"At Pilot Air Freight, we've reached an important milestone that few can boast in the air freight industry: 35 years of continuous, quality service. That unique staying power feeds from a pool of enormously talented people sharing a common vision, determination and creativity that keeps Pilot strong," says Richard G. Phillips, Chairman, President, and CEO of Pilot Air Freight. "To be a leader in this industry requires a marriage of opposites: consistent yet adaptable, imaginative yet practical, omnipresent yet localized, diverse yet specialized. Finding the right balance has meant a bigger and more robust Pilot network that consistently surpasses expectations year after year."

Pilot Air Freight was founded on October 29, 1970, with the mission of providing top-notch domestic freight forwarding services. The company has experienced substantial growth since then.

Pilot has grown to 65 offices throughout North America, and was a founding member of the World Freight Alliance (WFA) in 2004. Pilot is also a major presence on the web with its fully integrated online shipment navigator, CoPilot', which allows customers to track domestic and international shipments online, set a customized logistics program, and ship freight anywhere in the world with just a few clicks.
