FREEPORT, TX - Port Freeport CEO Glenn Carlson announced his decision to retire to the Commission effective March 15, 2016.  The Port Commission expressed their appreciation of Mr. Carlson’s work as Port CEO and the long term benefits the Port will receive as a result of that work.  During Mr. Carlson’s time as CEO Port Freeport has experienced significant growth, including the adding of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Hoegh Autoliners as tenants.  MSC is a world leader in shipping containers and Hoegh Autoliners is a global leader in transporting roll on/roll off cargo, including thousands of vehicles at Port Freeport. Carlson looks forward to this new chapter of his life and enjoying the time he will be afforded with his family after forty years in the port industry.  Port Commission Chairman Ravi Singhania, on behalf of the entire Port Commission, thanked Mr. Carlson for his commitment and diligence in growing Port Freeport.  Commissioner Singhania also expressed the Port’s appreciation for Mr. Carlson extending the time of his retirement and assistance with the transition of a new Port CEO.  We extend the best to Mr. Carlson as he begins this well-deserved phase of his life.
