To take advantage of the increasing trade opportunities with India, the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans reached an agreement with Samsara Shipping Pvt Ltd to represent the Port in the 10th-largest economy in the world.
Steel is offloaded at the Port of New Orleans Nashville Avenue Terminal recently. In 2013, trade between New Orleans and India totaled 150,092 tons, a majority of which was imported steel into New Orleans. Port officials hope to grow trade between New Orleans and India through a new agreement with Samsara Shipping.
