Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) Commission has voted to end the lease agreement of its Cold Storage Facility tenant, Coastal Bend Cold Storage Inc. The company’s lease, which began July 1, 2009, included a minimum five-year lease with an option to buy the building.

Effective Wednesday, March 10, 2010 the port will resume the operation of the facility. Port staff will consider the option to lease the facility to another tenant or run the facility itself.“The Port’s business development team continues in the pursuit of refrigerated cargo with two strong potential accounts on the horizon, time-frame and tonnages of which should be known by May,” advised John LaRue, Port’s Executive Director.

The Port’s Cold Storage Facility is a state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse. From its strategic location on the Texas gulf coast, it serves the American and world markets with excellent shipping, rail and highway connections. It offers chilled and frozen space a short 60-foot distance from dockside with enclosed, temperature-controlled, rail and truck loading docks.
